This watercolour is approximately 6.5" x 13" and is executed on Arches 140lb Acid Free Rough Watercolour Paper

The subject is the PackHorse Bridge at the southern end of Sowerby. Before the road bridge was built there was ford across the river - Codbeck. The dwellings finished at the river. So to the locals it was to them in effect, their World's End!

This is depicted in "James Herriot's Yorkshire" book.
